Kirkland Wedding {5.16.15}

Grace and Brian, united in marriage, May 16th 2015.

Let me share with you how glorious this day was. Never have I seen more calm and peace in the midst of what the rest of the world calls "the most stressful day of your life". I have never seen a groom smile more than I saw Brian smile that day. And I have never seen a bride so at peace as I saw Grace. You two have set a beautiful example of what it is like to know your place in God's heart, and trust that the plans He has for you are good. In my time getting to know Grace and Brian, it became really clear that they know their togetherness has little to do with them, and a lot to do with God in their lives. I've had the privilege of working with many couples who understand this same thing. It's amazing; I hope and pray that I get to be a witness to more and more marriages like this one, as God uses this generation to make His kingdom come.

I will betroth you to me forever;
    I will betroth you in righteousness and justice,
    in love and compassion.
I will betroth you in faithfulness,
    and you will acknowledge the Lord.

“In that day I will respond,”
    declares the Lord—
“I will respond to the skies,
    and they will respond to the earth;
and the earth will respond to the grain,
    the new wine and the olive oil,
    and they will respond to Jezreel.
I will plant her for myself in the land;
    I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’;
    and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”
